Well all devices are good making a fair tomtom vs garmin gps comparation is very well documented but yet exist the user desicion on wat he likes the most, making a compration between brands some people may say that Garmin is a best gps system, Garmin has a simple controls - simply touch the color screen to enter a destination, has a turn-by-turn voice directions, 2-D or 3-D maps and more feature. but is an single opinion rigth?

Philippine addresses changes from time to time and route changes frequent. It would be costly to have them updated from time to time. Not unless there is a political will.

the brand does not matter when it comes to products like this. all gps are essentially the same with the exception to cheap ones sold at walmart. the important thing to look for is the features. tomtom and garmin have cool features which can also be found in other high end gps models. for instance my newelectronx purchased gps can do everything the tom tom or garmin can do if not better and it cost a fraction of the retail price that garmin and tomtom is listed at. in fact it does a little more for the price i paid for it. so if you are looking to buy a gps then read this guide before you buy. it sure helped me out allot: http://www.newelectronx.com/help.php?category_id=11&parent_id=11

Everyone gps could be the best it all depends on your needs. From those two the garmin is cheaper than tom tom so if the money is important for you you should get garmin but if you don`t care than tom tom is for you. the name brand really does not matter. some ppl may find that tom tom is better, while other think garmin is the sh*t. so do your own research and see what you expect from a gps. you might want to note that garmin and tom tom charge a fee for map updates. the fee is generally about 100 bucks. so keep that in mind when you make your choice.http://www.newelectronx.com/help.php?category_id=11

I just bought a Tom Tom 720 had a garmin before nver had any troubles with it, only thing I hate is maps are very expensive to load for Garmin and same is the parts if you need any for the same. Easy to use as compared to Tom Tom. Will updat you later give me few days to try my Tom Tom.
