Ypu can buy a tent in the tent shop :D But i think somewhere is tent shops where you can buy only tents . Than you can by tents in some sport shops or even sometimes in supermarkets when season is starting. In warmer temps the condensation can soak your bag, reducing its temperature rating, especially in rain, which would be the only reason not to just sleep under the stars. Gore-tex and other waterproof/breathable fabrics are just not efficient enough to pass the water vapor human beings give off, neither while sleeping nor exercising. I swear by Euerka tents. I currently own 3 of various sizes. The oldest is now 13 or 14 years old and with a new coat of seam sealer, would not hesitate to take it on a camping trip. It has been used about 150 nights so far. I work in the camping industry, NO not for Eureka! I am a manager in a large nationwide sporting goods company. I can basically get any tent I choose, but I choose Eureka due to their quality of workmanship, customer service, and value for the money.

Q. Can i buy a lightweight pole for my tent instead of using trekking poles?
i just bought a aarn pacer 2 lightweight tent. i just found out i need to have trekking poles for this tent. i don't own trekking poles and would not use them while i walk. could i buy a lightweight tent that would fit?

Bummer dudet I am surprised you didn't read the fine print. Yes you could get poles for the tent that would work. You can get replacement poles for most tents at your local sporting goods supplier. But the idea is to cut weight and for rough terrain trekking poles are very handy. It is like having four feet, and if your using two poles already why carry two more for the tent. Check out the cost of replacement poles verses two good used ski poles they are virtually the same as trekking poles at half the cost.

i will also need sleeping pad but the one with the air filled in and a small foldable chair to use during the festival. price range is important, looking for the cheapest alternatives. tent can be small for one person. we will be three of us therefore we need three tents, chairs and sleeping pad. many thanks.

Coleman and Ozark trail make some good tents that won't break the bank. Remeber the first trip may not go as great as you are expecting so don't give up with just one time. I was ready to never take my 4 year old with me again after his first trip when he was 2, However after many more trips now i hate leaving him behind. You could also look into renting a camper for you first go at it. Remeber to take any "favorites" such as a blanket or stuffed animal. Hope you and your son have a great time making unforgetable memories.

Q. How to make or where to buy cat hammock and tent?
i had a net for some beanie babies i needed out of my way but couldn't throw away.but now the net has become my cats new "hammock" shes pretty heavy,shes part mc so not a small cat the net works okay for now but she drags its too low to the ground but really enjoys it id like to have my net back and still give her a hammock how can i make one or where to buy also do they make something like a tent for cats? thanks sandra_panda- thanks for the help

i have a 10'x12' tent and i am trying to buy a tarp to go over it to protect it from the rain and sun. i am not sure how much larger i should go. please help :)

Well obviously the smallest tarp you want is 12'x12'. I`d say go with at least a 15'x15' tarp. If the tent is decent and has a good fly you shouldnt need a tarp. but personally if you really need it go with a 20'x20' this way you have a small place to sit under and stay dry. Sort of like a porch area. There is no need to do all that math and measuring, you know the tent is 10'x12' thats all you need, you`re not having a custom tarp created.
