They are NOT stopping making UMD`s, at least games wise. I think they stopped putting films on them years ago. Personally I would go for a PSP-3000. While the Go! has built in memory you can easily buy a memory card for the 3000 (Up to 16GB at the moment) which means you can download games etc anyway. There is also a fairly decent back catalogue on UMD, which you wouldn`t be able to use on a GO! as only certain games are being re-released on digital format. Plus there is the obvious reason that it is cheaper than the GO! Last thing if you are going to get an iPod Touch, don`t. Wait a couple of months as if I remember right they are releasing a new one in a few months alongside a new iPod Nano. Source(s): I`m in the know about these things.

o you want your games on a UMD disc or completely digital? Both digital and UMD disc games cost the same amount. I You can`t use UMD`s on the psp go at all. so if you find a good deal at a Garage Sale or whatever, you`re screwed, get the 3000 imo

Obviously the psp 3000 is much better. Larger screen and clearer graphics. Sure the go does boost a slight increase in power but its barely recognisable in performance. As for price.. It is cheaper but you gotta pay for a better mem stick with the 3000. Its not problem though coz you can pick up decent ones (SD or Sony) quite cheap from eBay. Imo, The psp 3000 wins hands down. You wouldnt pay more money to watch films or music videos on smaller screens would you? Its also a lot more suited to adults.. The games for download for the go actually are pretty babyish. J. x

The comparison is just won by the PSP 3000. Think about they have nearly the exact same features with the exception of bluetooth. You can still download the games on the PSP 3000. The PSP Go is slicker and slides. But, it cannot play alot of the games that the PSP 3000 can and can`t play UMD movies. The price also makes a big difference between the PSP Go and the PSP 3000, you could buy the PSP 3000 and 2 8GB memory cards from amazon for a lower price. I might have to lean towards the PSP 3000 because it has a better price, quality, larger screen, and 99/100s of the same features that the Go has.

well if you like to get a great quality graphics then go for the PSP. Plus it has a lot of features that the DS don't have. For example a video, a tv, an mp3, etc. well basically PSP is like a PDA. But the downside of the PSP is that the game developers of PSP are getting fewer and fewer.. It is because the developers are focusing its attention on PS3.... Meanwhile Nintendo DS is another great gadget too. It has two screens and it is a touch screen to.... and there are a lot of games on DS than PSP. Well it is simply because nintendo is a game developer too... but again the downside of the DS is its graphics... So in conclusion you must ask you self first. Are you ok with a less quality graphics console or are you looking for something that is HD?.. if you want an HD gaming experience than go with the PSP and you can do other things to with it..:)

I recommend buying a PSP over the iPod because I have owned both long enough to tell you which one is the better value(or at least my opinion ). I have always loved Apple products, but the 2G iPod touch let me down, first I bought the Touch and the battery lasted about 20 minutes when fully-charged and just so you know I charged it before using it or turning it on, the second one I bought kept freezing on normal apps such as Safari or checking E-Mail so after returning the second I decided to try one more time and get a third one and so far it has been okay, minimal freezing and no battery problems but some things I don't like are that you have to use iTunes which I don't like because it's too slow and it really doesn't offer as many features and it has more design flaws than Win. Media Player or practically any other media program and that it's not that customizable(unless you jailbreak it which I don't suggest doing). I like the PSP because you can just open up (if you are running Windows) "My Computer" and transfer all you want from there to your PSP, you can download YouTube videos and easily transfer to it or even copy-protected DVD's. It also has a better and more reliable firmware, feels more durable, the controls and the screen are a bit more responsive and all-in-all a more powerful multi-media device at a slight bit lower price. But then again, if you like the idea of a touch-screen and having an internet browser that plays youtube videos and most other website's videos that use Quicktime player and all the apps, then go for the iPod Touch because I have to say the Apps are really awesome.

Pros and cons for the Go. Mint storage - 16 GB internal memory and now capable of the new style of M2 memory card which fit most phones etc - also saves you a lot of money not having to buy a load of memory with a 3000 or other PSP Load times better, games installed to hard drive rather than running from disc makes it astoundingly faster (also means no annoying noice from the UMD constantly whirring away Better to hold - the old analog stick was uncomfortable and easy to break, the new one - very comfortable and more specific with directions. Bluetooth compatibility with PS3. The screen is only FRACTIONALLY smaller, and it is DEFINITELY better quality than any other PSP Cons... Can't hack the GO (I wouldn't anyway cos you can permanently f*ck it if you do it wrong) Some games obviously not available because all UMD games haven't yet been ported. And I know looks aren't everything but it does look cool :D

The 3000 is way better. The 3000 has all of the same features as the Go, plus a slightly larger screen, plus it is $80 cheaper. The biggest reason, however, is the UMD drive. Since the Go took it out, it forces you to buy all of your games straight from Sony at full price. You can't buy cheaper used games, rent games, or sell games back when you're done. You can do all of those things with the 3000, though.
