Q. What gets rid of fleas on dogs?

"All informatioun you need to know about fleas and how to get rid of..."

You can get rid of fleas with some medication for dogs. It it serious to get rid of them because fleas not even bites but can transmit diseases too and that can be dangerous for you too. So you should get a flea comb for your dog it is the first step and here is all informatioun you need to know about fleas and how to get rid of those insects http://www.stopthefleas.com/fleas-on-pets.html:) John Doubtson

Q. How do i get rid of my dogs fleas?

"Fleas drown in water so give your dog a good bath..."

You can easily get rid of your god fleas through these simple steps. Fleas drown in water so give your dog a good bath. You do not necessarily have to use a flea shampoo. You can use a normal dog shampoo. Do not use flea collars. You should also use frontline and/or sentinel. They are good for your dog. You can use them together but no two other medications can be used together.

Q. How can i get rid of my dogs fleas without flea dipping?
my dog has tons of fleas.i really need to get rid of them.i don't want to take her to the vet to be flea dipped.i have a shampoo for dogs that is supposed to get rid of her fleas but that does not work.i need an inexpensive way to get rid of those itchy pests. please help!!

"As my collie mix is very allergic to fleas..."

I would give a capstar, treat yard and carpets that same day. Vacuum daily and dump contents into a bag, tie it tight and toss it. Dawn dish soap is the best flea bath, but its kind of drying. If you have them that bad, you might want to do that. Then finish with a topical. I hate those things, but living in Texas I dont have much choice. I have to use it atleast once in the summer, sometimes twice, as my collie mix is very allergic to fleas! I disagree Bobby, you do not need a professional. The commercial OTC products are crap for the most part. I dont like to use pesticides, but if you need cheap, sevin dust is cheap and works well in the yard.

Q. What are the best solutions to keep fleas off dogs?
i have small pomeranians and inside dogs. i let them out to do their business a few times a day, however, i have a flea problem no matter how many times i bath them (once a week) and apply the applicator down the middle of their back that suppose to keep fleas off them. i use frontline solution, but doesn't really work.

Frontline spray works the best for my dogs.

Q. What is an easy and a fast way to kill fleas off dogs?
i have tryed to use garlic powder in food, buying sprays for floors and dogs, powders for floor and dogs, expensive topical (frontline) solutions are just not working. theirs not many fleas just a few per dog but them few are making the dogs ich like crazy. i feel so bad for them and need somthing like an old-fashion technique or just somthing different i can try.

"What a pain fleas are no fun at all..."

I use a good flea dip and then 7 days later flea and tick shampoo. But no matter how much you bathe your dogs you need to do the house too. buy a flea fogger for the house.Or have a professional come out and spray. What a pain fleas are no fun at all, GOOD LUCK

Q. How do you check for fleas on dogs?
how do you check for fleas on dogs?

"If the dog has fleas you can bathe him in medicated..."

Look on the dog's shoulders, ears, rump and on the stomach. Part the hair to see the skin. You'll be able to see the little black fleas crawling around on the skin. Or the dog may be scratching at them. Look in the spot where the dog is scratching to see if you can see them. If the dog has fleas you can bathe him in medicated flea shampoo and get some flea drops at the vet.'

"Ugh - fleas are tough little buggers..."

Ugh - fleas are tough little buggers! Before you deal with your dog, the most important part is going to be treating your house, since you're obviously dealing with a serious infestation. The problem with fleas as that they can stay in the pupae life stage for 50 days, in which case nothing short of radiation can kill them. However, heat and vibration causes them to hatch, where they CAN be killed. That is best done with a vaccuum cleaner. Vaccuuming your house every other day (including furniture, under furniture, carpeting and wood, drapes, etc) with flea powder in the vaccuum bag will help hatch and kill the flea pupae, as well as the adults and eggs. NOW lets talk about the boys and flea products. 1. flea collars are great for the neck area, but not much else. 2. Dips are great until your pet hits the floor, where it will be reinfested. 3. Try eating garlic and see if the fleas stay off you... then you'll know it won't work on your dog. Plus, garlic causes kidney failure in dogs. 4. Grocery store brands are not regulated, and have been known to kill the flea, tick, and the pet. www.hartzvictims.org can tell you all about it. 5. Veterinary brands NOT from your veterinarian can be subject to either compromised product (exposed to extreme temperature, etc) or just straight-up fakes. Frontline Plus has a serious problem with this. This includes Petmeds, PetRX, etc. You need a veterinary license to purchase the real thing from the destributor. Now the good stuff: 1. Frontline Plus - 30 days of flea/tick control, safe, and includes "flea birth-control" to kill the flea eggs as well as adults and larvae. 2. Vectra 3D is almost identicle to Frontline Plus, but is newer to the market. 3. Promeris - Very strong, great on ticks. Kills fleas fast, but is known to cause reactions including 24-hr long lethargy/vomiting. Not common, but it happens, esp with smaller dogs. 4. Advantage - Has a flea repellant (unlike the rest). Great, unless they are repelling in to your house. Given no other option, the flea will take a blood meal on a human rather than dying. Causes similiar reactions as Promeris. 5. Sentinel - Oral, rather than topical. Is not generally known for success in eliminating infestations, but works well for control, and is paired with a heartworm preventative. In any event, any product you use will need to be used for 3 months without lapsing in order to properly remove all lifestages from the enviroment.

Q. What difference is there in cat fleas and dogs fleas ? fleas are fleas arn't they ?
i have a dog. the dog has fleas. the yard has fleas. part of my house has fleas. how do i get rid of them plain and simple. i have no cat.

"Then flea dip the dog and give the dog advantage every month..."

Yes they are the same. You need to remove the dog from the home (put him outside for a few hours) and flea bomb it. Then flea dip the dog and give the dog Advantage every month. Also you can spray your lawn and yard for fleas with products from Home Depot or Lowes.

Q. How to get rid of my dogs' fleas!?
i have two wire fox terriers and they both had fleas, two weeks ago. we gave them frontline plus and it got rid of them. now they both have fleas again! my parents are threatening to get rid of our dogs if we don't get rid of the fleas. so please give me some way to keep them flea free!!!

"The borax pulls the moisture out of the fleas killing them..."

Go to the vet and ask for Cap-star pills for them. 1 pill will kill all bugs in 24 hours. Front line plus is only guaranteed if it is purchased through a vet. Use Borax on your carpeting and under the dog beds and couch cushions. The Borax pulls the moisture out of the fleas killing them. Borax is found in the laundry soap area in the grocery store.

Q. Does dawn dish liquid soap work to get rid of fleas for dogs or can it just be any dish liquid soap?
my poor dogs have been suffering and itching from fleas and since they are inside dogs i am very concerned that the fleas are not just spreading on the dogs but my own home. help me!!!! plz thanx to all the people who answered. i appreciate it. your the best ; )

"Take your dog to the vet and get some flea treatment for your dog..."

Sorry, dish soap is not going to get rid of fleas. Even if it got rid of the adults, it's not going to kill the eggs left behind and it's definitely not going to help eliminate them from spreading around your home. Take your dog to the vet and get some flea treatment for your dog. Or even go to a petstore and buy it yourself if you're confident enough to read and follow instructions properly. ADD: @tk - again, that's great that it kills the adult fleas, but what about the eggs left behind? Dish soap WILL NOT take care of that.
