you can save your gamesave data on your comp but not the game itself unless you are using an iso/cso file. you most likely have a sonyfirmware which you cant use the files i mentioned. go to psphacks.com and you can find all the answers about downgrading your psp...that is if you dont hve the sonyware3.30 and up

Actually, yes you can. There's a certain disc drive you need and a program that converts the CD into a .iso file. From there, if you install custom Firmware, you can put the .iso file onto you MAGIC memory stick and play them off your psp. The steps are long and tricky, and could cause your PSP to 'brick' (a.k.a., get stuck on a black screen with no way to repair it.) You'd have to look up a tutorial on how to do it, but only PSP 1000's and certain PSP 2000's, but not on PSP 3000. Also, if your firmware is recently updated, you can't do it.

My husband got a PSP for Christmas, and we set his up together. I will try my best to give you step by step directions. First off, you need to get to the main menu from wherever you are on your PSP. You can do that by pressing the Home button, a tiny button just to the lower left of the screen. Now you'll want to move left (pressing the "<" button) until you get to Settings, then down (pressing the "V" button) until you get to Network Settings. Now you'll have two choices: "Ad Hoc" is when you want to connection two PSPs together with any sort of Internet wifi base station / access point involved, and "Infrastructure Mode" is when you connect to your local wifi device. The latter's what you want. You'll probably only have the one choice of New Connection, but if you don't, choose it anyway. First option is to specify a mnemonic connection name. The default is usually "Connection 1" but yours might be "Connection 2", or similar. When I am using the psp, I enter a different name so I know which one is which. To enter a new connection name, press the "X" button and you'll get to the "keyboard" screen. When you're done struggling to enter your selected name :-) (I say this because I hate, hate, hate typing things out on the PSP.) move to the green "Enter" box and press the "X" button. Now you'll be ready for the next step: a Network Scan. If everything's working well with your device and you've turned on the WLAN switch you'll see the following status message: "Scanning. Please Wait...." Hopefully, you'll see at least one network listed, if not more. If you don't see any networks, then you're out of luck. If the only networks you see have some sort of security setting, either WPA or WEP, then you must know the security password to access that network. Once you're ready, the next step you'll want to take is to select an access point. Now you'll have a chance to confirm your security setting from the different choices. Notice that the default is just about always the correct choice, which you can select by pushing the ">" button again and again. Then, skip right past the Address Settings and you will get a confirmation screen that shows all the settings you've specified. Press the ">" button again to save the settings that you just set up. Last thing is to "test" the connection, by pressing "X". After that, if it shows up, you're all set! Good luck. I hope that helps you out! I am sorry I couldn't be more detailed with it. i was just wondering, i have a few games i play often but they take up so much computer space when they're installed, especially because of custom objects and stuff that can be installed for each of them. sim city 4, the sims, and zoo tycoon. each game itself comes to about 900 mb on its own so that's a ton of space when all three are installed on the computer. well i have a 8gb memorystick pro duo and was hooking up the psp by usb to the computer. i noticed some people install stuff on the memory cards (i don't ever use the psp for gaming really, so none of the space is taken up.) but i didn't know if it was even worth it or would save any computer space if i installed the games into the memory card of the psp and of course would have to connect it when i wanted to play one of the games buuut, will it save space or is it even worth doing?

Honestly, without purchasing a software package that is made to make the pen drive simulate a HDD, it is a crap shoot. Some software will and some will not. And, to be honest, the memory stick does have a read/write lifespan, so the more you access it, the less time it will last you, the cells will start to burn out.

ok so i have the games i want i have the firmware 500m33_6 installed. so now what when i hook usb up to my mac computer. i stick the .rar into a folder for an example: game. then after waiting for it to download i eject the psp from my computer.after that i go to my game section and scroll down to free space n i see that there is no game there but memory is taken. so i go t format to get my memory back.s00000000...i don't get what to do next

I asked this same question to sony but about the ps3 slim. Yes if you go onto store then your downloads it lets you re-download them free. You should be able to install the psp games again.
