    Q. How can i increase the volume of the internal speaker of my old pentium 3 notebook?
hi. i am running a pentium 3 old notebook with windows me. pls advice how i can turn the volume of the internal speaker louder. thanks! tks for your inputs thus far. is there any software remedy for this? it is just too soft but somehow i remember when i 1st got the notebook in windows xp, i have not much problem. external speaker is a good remedy but that will be the last alternative as portability is the key concern.

"The speakers in some notebooks blow ...you could..."

assuming ur volume is maxed in the sound properties ... the speakers in some notebooks blow ...you could do like i did and get a cheap pair of small self powered speakers to plug into the output jack... or get a cable made up to patch the notebook output jack into ur home stereo or tv.

    Q. How increase speaker volume notebook dell inspiron 1525?

"Theres a volume control on bottom right corner..."

depending on your operating system. if you have windows XP, theres a volume control on bottom right corner. if you have Vista, it should be about the same thing. Best bet, look on sides and try to find the volume control. Thats your best bet.

    Q. How can i increase the volume on my laptop?
i just got a new dell 1525 notebook, and even with its volume at max and whatever's playings's volume at max, it still isn't very loud. is there any way i can increase it further?

"The only real way you can probably increase your volume is to get some..."

The only real way you can probably increase your volume is to get some external speakers. Go to Wal-Mart, Circuit City, Best Buy, etc. and buy some speakers for it. They will probably have a green connector on the end of them in which you can plug into the headphone port on your laptop. Some laptops have a port for external speakers which will be the same color green as the connector on the speakers but if not plugging them into the headphone jack will work just fine. If you get a set of powered speakers (which would be the best for volume), make sure you plug them into a surge protector as it can ruin your PC in the event of a power surge. Happy hunting. Hope this helps.

    Q. How can i increase the bass on my laptop?
i have a hp pavilion dv5 notebook and the volume on it is so plain. i increased the bass through the controls idt audio settings, but i barely noticed a difference. is there another way i can increase the bass?

"Set of pc speakers that comes with a subwoofer..."

You usually find more bass at the local seafood market and place it on top of your laptop... Buy a 2.1 (left-right-subwoofer) set of PC speakers that comes with a subwoofer. I have a JBL set that rocks the floor when plugged into the sound card. It will also need to be plugged into a power outlet.

    Q. Problem with fn keys in toshiba notebook 205?
hey, when i first got my laptop i had no problem using the fn function to higher the volume and increase screen brightness and other settings. but now it doesn't work anymore by . please give me a step by step guide on how to fix this. thanks. extra information: i'm running windows 7 basic, if that helps in anyway.

"Did you download and install all the drivers that toshiba has for that notebook..."

Did you purchase the Toshiba with Windows 7, or did you upgrade to it? Did you download and install all the drivers that Toshiba has for that notebook? When exactly did the Function key stop working? Does the Fn key work for anything else, or has it stopped working completely (like for the alternate function numpad keypad)? Did you spill anything on the notebook? Have you backed up your personal data and performed a factory recovery? The step by step guide to fixing this yourself depends on far more information than you have provided. The short answer, is that if this is still on Warranty, send it back to Toshiba. If it is not on warranty, take it to a computer repair shop. The long answer, is that you need to provide a bucket full of specific information, before anyone can diagnose the problem for you, and determine a solution. end of line

    Q. Sound properties issue?
i have acer aspire5583 notebook.it have realtek high definition audio.recently i can mute sound using sound icon under taskbar.now i cant v iew my sound icon in task bar.i can go 2 control panel-sound and audio device-click-place the icon bar in the task bar.but its shows some error message ''windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the volume control program has not been installed.to install it, use add/remove program in control panel'' but i dont know how 2 install volume control.i can try 2 adjust volume control in sound and audio properties-audio-sound playback-click-volume-here also some error message shows ''windows cannot excute sndvol32.exe use add/remove program control panel to install'' i dont know how to excute sunvol32.exe.i can try 2 excute sndvol32.exe ,using xp sp2 cd.but i cant, coz, there is unknown filke formate.i dont know how 2 open sndvol32.exe file. i can try 2 increase volume control using-start-accessories-entertainment-there is no option to volume control & volume recording.entertainment option will be empty.my problem is, my system sound works low volume. i cant view sound icon under taskbar, i cant view volume control&sound recording in start-accessories-entertainment option. i dont know how 2 excute sndvol32.exe file? plz help me?

"''windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the..."

To simply run sndvol32.exe , go to your start menu, click "Run" and type out sndvol32.exe and click OK. You could alternatively press ctrl+alt+del, and go to the menu along the top to "file" then to "New Task (Run)" and type sndvol32.exe there. To get the icon back, try going to control panel "Sound and audio devices" and looking at the checkboxes. If you cannot get it back... I recently had sound problems myself that disabled my sound. I had also damaged audio (ton of problems) for over a year. I uninstalled the sound drivers (in add and remove list) that came with my motherboard, nad went back just to the windows included audio drivers! and guess what. My sound works perfectly. 1. Windows installs sound drivers for sound devices. 2. Installing MORE sound drivers go right next to windows sound drivers, and can cause conflicts, including broken, or unavailable audio. ''windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the volume control program has not been installed.to install it, use add/remove program in control panel'' sounds like a message caused by a 3rd party sound installation. A good tip that you have a second sound driver, is in your control panel, you will see properties for more than one audio device. If this is the case, go to add and r emove and uninstall that sound device, and restart. "Sound and audio devices" in the control panel, will contain a tab called "Audio" and in a drop down menu, may display more than one sound devices. This is also a indicator a that multiple ,conflicting drivers are installed. Again, look for one of them in your add remove list, remove, and restart. goodluck

    Q. What could be the problem is?
i got new compaq notebook. problem is no sound can hear at alll but i check software and i can even increase the volume but still no sound.what could i check

"See if there is a volume control knob on the front or side..."

Check the owners manual. See if there is a volume control knob on the front or side. If this fails, do not hesitate to contact Compaq support. May be something simple and may be a component failure which does happen with electronics.
