Q. How to treet dogs?

If you want to get dog you should be very sure of it because always remember expresion that dog is men best friend and that means you should treat him like your best friend :) You can feed him 3 times a day(or 2) you should a lot give him attention you should go to walk with him. It sounds easy but it is not. You can`t put him in house and leave him alone it doesn`t work and your dog won`t be happy than. Caroll Abbot

Q. We have treated our dogs with the flee treatment that lasts one month and one still has flees. what to do?
we have three dogs and only one still has flees. i could not apply it very well when because the dog wouldn't stay still, but i don't want to apply another one because it specifies not to apply it more than once per month on the box. i don't really have the funds to take him to the vet or to have a proper flee bath done by a professional. any suggestions?

What flea treatment did you use? If it was over the counter, chances are it was worthless. Get some real flea prevention from your vet and treat your environment.

Q. Can any one tell me a home remidity for flee control for dogs?
i have tried front line and other flee products on my tea cup poodle but nothing works does any one know of an old time flee control that you can make your self if you do please help?

If frontline, advantage, advantix, etc aren't working, YOU have a flea problem. You need to treat your yard and your house. And no, there's no "home" remedies.

Q. Why does explosive gas cuase dogs to flee in multiple directions?

Hahaha. Too funny! If my husband let's one rip, my male chihuahua will stare at his own butt in confusion and then hurriedly try and "clean" it, as though he's afraid he did it and will be punished. Hubby's dachshund will try and bury him in the covers if she's around. The funniest? My mom had a chihuahua in high school that would "sniff" out the culprit, and then stare them down in disapproval!

Q. Has anyone made their own flee solution to put on dogs and puppies?
i would like to make my own natual mixture. also does anyone know what is a good product or mixture to use on lawns to get rid of flees. we seem to have a infestation outside and with the weather getting hotter there getting out of control.

My answer below was voted best answer several times by others. "Best Answer - Chosen By Voters Not to sound like a Know-it-all but there is a very natural way of dealing with fleas. First your home and yard needs to be decontaminated. The best method for doing that is a little bug called a nematode. They are available in powered form in 16 oz plastic bottles. You know the old saying "Every dog has its fleas and each flea has his flea", well the nematodes are the fleas flea. They bore into the flea and lay their eggs literally destroying the ability of the flea to lay eggs killing the flea at the same time. Take the powder and lightly sprinkle it on the your carpeting, it will not hurt the carpet, then lightly spray your carpet with a fine mist of water. Don't walk on the carpet yourself until it is dry. It is ok to let the dogs walk on it. Then do the same to your whole yard. It will be about a week but the fleas will be gone. The nematodes will become dormat when there is no food but when there is food they multiply profusely, then will go dormat again. The dog needs to be fully defleaed at the same time. The best method I have found to do that naturally, is to use a combination of Avon Skin-So-Soft (original formula not the scented stuff) and mild shampo (J&J Baby Shampoo works best). After having used regular mild shampoo to clean the dog, bathe your dog again using the SSS, putting a full 16 oz bottle in the bath tub full of warm water. Just soak your dog very throughly. Do Not dry your dog off. Take it straight outside and let him dry off naturally. Of course don't let him role in the dirt etc. This will take about an hour to do but is the best overall method. The SSS will stay on his coat and act as a conditioner as well as be a deterant to the fleas. The SSS is a natural mineral oil and will help with your dogs skin irratation from the flea bits and will kill any left over fleas and eggs from the shampoo cleaning. Best wishes in your project. Fleas are a big problem everywhere I have ever lived and this was the best way to get rid of them

Q. How bad can the flee and tic collars effect dogs?
today my husband and i put a flee and tic collar on our dog, she is 7 months old. afterwards she started acting like it was bothering her really bad. so my husband read on the package and it said to remove immediatley if the animal acts irretated from the collar and if it still acts like something is wrong after you remove it then to take it to a vet. well seeing as how its really late at night, i can't really do that! but she since then has been acting really lazy, down & when she does get up--she runs and looks behind her like she is being chased and she runs up against everything like shes itching really bad... she has slept probably the majority of the time since we have removed it as well. what are some serious signs that i should be looking for? i have no idea what to expect, i don't know if she is going to be really bad off, if she will make it through the night? i need someone's help because i dont know where to start!! please!!!

I would give her a bath & use a lot of dog shampoo( not flea shampoo) around the neck area. Be sure to rinse it off very well. Once you get the area washed off your dog should be fine. These flea colars affects animals differently. Here is a site that will give you a little info on them http://hartzvictims.org Once you are on the site, click on top 10 (on the left of the page), then click on #1 & click on the photos.

Q. Is it possible for people to get flee from animals like dogs?

Yes. My mother used to get fleas from our dogs. Fleas need a blood source and when there is an over infestation, they will bite people, too.

Q. What's the best way to get rid of my dogs flees?
my poor dog has got flees i feel so bad for her the bad thing is she is allergic to flee bites so she breaks out and itches all the time i just gave her a bath and she seems to be a little bit better but whats a good way to rid of flees? is there a home remedy? do you know of any thing i can give her or bathe her in? thanks for your help!

You should purchase frontline for fleas and ticks. They also have flea baths you can give to your dog. That works pretty well, as long as you use it in addition to frontline. To ensure that you're getting rid of all of the fleas you can also bomb your house or apartment. This will kill the remaining fleas that might be living in your blankets or carpet.

Q. Which is better frontline or advantage flee control for dogs?
..

It would be a personal opinion. Frontline Plus: waterproof start at 8 weeks can use on those that are pregnant/nursing, kills adult fleas, eggs, larvae stops the development of new fleas kills all stages of 4 major ticks Advantage: kills adult fleas, larvae

Q. About flee medicine for dogs, is hartz a reliable brand and can i trust it?

OK I can answer this question out of total experience!! NO DO NOT USE IT!!! HARTZ IS A SCARY SCARY SCARY PRODUCT!!! I had a cat die in my arms and have seen countless dogs and cats come into the clinic I worked at come in near death or very very very sick... please just get some frontline or advantage. they are safe and will get the job done. I prefer frontline but others prefer advantage... smile.... good luck (Its really not worth even trying it.. please don't get it... you can purchase frontline over-the-counter at most pet stores now...In my opinion they should be put out of business!!!)
