If you want to get dog you should be very sure of it because always remember expresion that dog is men best friend and that means you should treat him like your best friend :) You can feed him 3 times a day(or 2) you should a lot give him attention you should go to walk with him. My dogs are driving me nuts!!! need flea help!!!? i am starting to go crazy. i found out on monday that my dogs had fleas when i took them to the groomer. she said they were not bad at all, only about 5-10 on each dog. the groomer totally de-flead them for me. so i came home while they were still there and i thoroughly vacuumed all 3 floors of my home, got in the creases and under all furniture, i sprinkled flea killer powder that kills the fleas in all stages of life (so the box says) in all the carpets and let it sit for 2 hours and vacuumed once again, i have flea traps on each floor of the house and i have only caught a total of 7 fleas between them. i front-lined my dogs. this entire process has cost me more than i even have budgeted for both of my kids for christmas! i don't know what else to do but the fleas are still on my dogs! not to mention the constant scratching and licking they are doing is not allowing for anyone in the house to sleep and is so very annoying to them and us!
also, per the vet's instructions i am giving my dogs benadryl constantly for their itching. the vet had no other suggestions for me except, 'good luck'. nice.

it's been a horrible year for fleas! my dog has had them for months and we've done everything for him, basically every product ever. if they were living in your carpet then you would be getting bites around your ankles so your dogs might just be bringing new ones in every time they go outside. unfortunately i don't really have a solution other than hope the cold weather kills them off and continue to powder your carpets to prevent an infestation. try doing weekly flea baths with them, that usually helps.

Q. Fleas are gone, but dogs still itching!? i gave them some antihistamine per the vet's instructions but i don't think that will do anything. they were both professionally de-flead. they didn't have fleas too bad, only about 10 on each of them (they are big dogs, lab and greyhound). they were treated with frontline, i treated my entire house with flea killer. they are still itching like mad! what else can i do?
oh and they didn't use any chemicals when bathing my dogs. i was told it was all natural. the only chemical is the frontline.

It's entirely possible your dogs are allergic to fleas. My boy gets preventative every month, but if he gets bitten by a wayward flea, he goes crazy. His reaction to a single flea bite is so severe that he loses his hair, swells up, and scratches incessantly. When this happens, he gets treated with antibiotics to prevent infection and Prednisone (a steroid) for the itchiness.
If your dogs' itching hasn't gotten better, take them back to the vet.

Dogs bottem 6 nipples are big and saggy!!! is that ok?? shes 8 months old and finished her 1st season in january, her private parts have gone back down now but her bottem 6 nipples are big and quite saggy especially the bottem 4. shes ok in herself ,fully flead,wormed,innoculated etc. she is a boston terrier x pug.
shes not pregnant she was kept in when she was in season and has not had any dog contact!!
this is not uncommon for the first season she is OK, it is just the hormones, that do this, it will settle down, so if you are 100% positive she has not been near a male, it is normal.

'zoe' hates to be left alone due to her bad past, she was left to die in her old owners care before which is why she gets anxious when being left alone. she also dislikes other dogs. she would be best suited with someone who is at home most of the time.
she has a gentle nature, i have had no problems with her around the babies and kids in my family.
she has had a hard time before i saved her, she is a great dog and i am only giving her away due to long work hours, my husband and i feel it is unfair on the dog.
she is a great dog and very loyal. along with the dog i will be giving away her bed and toys which i have bought for her.

I believe you listed that he bit someone before on a question you asked. that is extremely dangerous! You shouldnt have let those people make you feel so bad.

Do you all know that they test the dogs when they get them at shelters to see if they are too Viscious to go to a home. MORONS! Cleary what she has described shows that he has been too viscious. WHAT DO YOU THINK THE RESCUE PEOPLE OR ADOPTION PLACES ARE GOING TO DO? IF THE DOG HAS THE SLIGHTEST TEMPER THEY WILL EUTHENIZE IT! My god, and clearly they have spent alot of money and time on the dog! Sorry to say but some things have to go. YOU ARE DOING THE RIGHT THING- and for feeling bad yes you should but you have to do the right thing!

Anyone in ireland with dogs or cats? what do you use to get rid of fleas from your home? we took in a stray kitten a few days ago, we already have a yorkie but couldn't just leave the kitten to die or whatever else may have happened to it in our garden. took kitten to vets - did whatever needed to be done. seems kitten could have been living outside for weeks. now our yorkie is scratching! we de-wormed and de-flead our yorkie. but we're sure that fleas etc are jumping around the place but what exactly do we get to kill them around the house - heard regular ant killer works? but what effect might that have on our yorkie (and the kitten) kitten is confined to an upstairs toilet/shower room with light and air ventilator on. yorkie roams the house as normal. thanks.
lone wolf: yeah, we paid €8 for each anti-flea treatment from the vet. the treatment wasn't frontline, called advocat or something. heard of frontline though - will probably buy it online. yeah, have to get some kind of anti-flea spray (also spent €10 on an anti-flea/lice head wash stuff for ourselves because i'm convinced they are trying to get into my ears to lay their nasty eggs near my brain!) my wife thinks i'm over reacting - maybe, lol.
I bought a can of "universal flea spray" in a pet shop, and it worked a treat. spray the cats/dogs sleeping area and give it an hour or 2 before letting them near it. I bet the vet charged you ridiculous money for the flea treatment, you can buy Frontline plus on ebay from the states and it only costs about 15 euro for 8 months worth of doses, it works amazing, and it's the same stuff the vets use. my cat gets ticks and fleas during the summer from the long grass near my house, and frontline plus stops him picking up any parasites and its so easy to use. I highly recommend it, and it will save you a fortune

fleas dont live on animals they live in carpets and soft furnishings and bedding.frontline is good also wash pet bedding on a hot wash.use a spray for carpets.
