Q. How come the xbox360 is more powerful than the ps3?
how come the xbox360 is more powerful than the ps3? when i watched e3, the ps3 had better graphics than the xbox 360. the ps3 has 256 mb of ram, while the xbox 360 has 512 mb of ram. the ps3's proccessor speed is 3.2 ghz, while the xbox360 has three-symettrical proccessors running at 3.2 ghz each! and the ps3 still has better graphics! is it the graphics card?

One thing to keep in mind is that we haven't really seen what the PS3 can do. There was much talk about the E3 videos probably being pre-rendered, and even at this date, we have seen little of what the PS3 can actually run. That said, the 360 has also proven to fall short of it's target renders (compare the E3 footage of Madden to the final product). Throwing around a lot of numbers is one thing, but it's what we actually see on the TV screen that really counts. The PS3 does have the advantage of time, and thus it will have the benefit of a built in BluRay drive. It's also rumoured to be remarkably expensive, so if it doesn't put out some obviously better graphics, people might just turn away. One final thing to note - both machines can run the Unreal 3 engine, and H. Kojima as said that his Metal Gear Solid 4 project could run on the 360 as well as the PS3 (though, at this point, only a PS3 version of the game is said to be worked on).

Q. Xbox360, do the gbs act as ram?
do the gb and mbs in the different 360 models act like ram in a computer? or is it only storage space? i would think its only storage space since its inside a hard drive, but you never know i guess. i just want to know if it will slow me down online. i don't care about having much save space.

its storage space just like an ipod and if your thinking of buying one dont buy the cheapest one because once you start downloading thins you'll fill it up really quick

I can tell you this with complete honesty... It is not anywhere in a laptop or notebook. No, I'm serious. Nowhere in a laptop or notebook is there a ROM chip that stores the serial number of your XBox 360 . I suppose you could Google a replacement chip.... and then you would have one in your hand to be able to identify it... and that way you can find out if anyone even sells them. But I promise you... you can't find that chip in a laptop or a notebook. Why would I say such a thing? I dunno. Why did you ask this question about the XBox 360 in the laptop and notebook category of Yahoo Answers?

i keep telling them that the new pc games are designed on the newest pcs but the console games are stuck using the cpu and ram they came out with.

To the dude above me, true, however some people will buy, mod or build their own PCs just for gaming and if you know what you're doing it'll be better than any consoles. To the asker, what are the specs for you PC? If it has good specs then yes you can tell them it owns their 360.

Yes, it is possible with a TV tuner card. Try to get one with hardware processing.

It has been said that you an just plug in your 360 controller to your computer and it will automatically have the drivers. So yes I do believe that windows vista has the drivers already for your 360 controller.

ps3 combine wit xbox360... both their processing power,ram,motherbod function..graphic,sound cards all combine together to make one powerfull console

No. The language of both processor achitectures is too different, to make a "merge" of both consoles possible. Maybe in a future console. But not with the current gen consoles. If you want a "console" with the best of both parts hardware wise, get a PC. You will get insane processing power with quad core CPUs, graphics cards with better graphics, sound cards with enhanced surround sound capabilities, and the choice of your harddrive space. And you can put a cheap BluRay Drive in the PC. However, you won't get the console exclusive games on that. But from the hardware aspect, your PC will be better than both consoles combined.

OK the PC:I wouldn't buy one just to play video games but i guess you could but seems like a lot of trouble with the PC you have to download games and other crap but you also get the Internet which of course you must have but a monthly bill[varies depending on company and speed].Xbox360=boo.Sorry but there's not a lot of good games for it though it does have [probably] game of the year elder scrolls 4 oblivion...on-line play...and high-tech graphics.ps3:hmm.well upcoming games are awesome... graphics are top-notch... 7 controller output... on-line capability...just like other next gen consoles=wireless controllers but there do have some affect to games...so the catch=$500-$600 [depending what version]...don't know if you can buy games after buying this.Wii:fun to say name..the two different controllers are cool and of course wireless...graphics are umm OK...allows you to play all other Nintendo games including games from the nes super Nintendo game cube and maybe just maybe game boy games i doubt the ds will be playable on there though...wireless controlers have sensors that really lets you controll the game hmm here's examples:the legend of Zelda twilight princess the controller is the weapon..Nintendo sports:baseball game lets you use the controller as the bat and more games too but don't you think i wrote enough..cheaper compared to other consoles.either way you'll have fun.
