"You can have the mac from the market and now the..."

you can have the mac from the market and now the mac has the new processor ie the core to du processor in which the two processor work together and they combinely process the system applications for example the software games and videos and songs applications etc. so the processing speed is doubled from that of the single processor.

This answer closely relates to:
  • Mac how many cpu
    • Does the xbox 360 have a high speed processor?
    • How many core processor in the ps3?
    • How to know how many core processor is?
  • Mac how many cpu working

    • How to find out how much core your processor has?
    • How can i find out how many core has my processor?
  • Mac how many cpus
    • How to identify number of processor and how many core?

    • Which system has better processor ps3 or xbox 360?

Q. Can a mac cpu get connected to regular monitor?
we got a mac cpu but we don't have the monitor. i am wondering if we need exactly a mac monitor to get the system up and running? also is the mouse for mac different than that for regular pc?

"Any monitor will work with your mac..."

As others have already mentioned, any monitor will work with your Mac. If it's a VGA monitor though, you'll need to purchase a DVI - VGA adapter (Male to Female) in order to connect. http://www.amazon.com/APPLE-M9320G-Mini-DVI-VGA-Adapter/dp/B00011KHTM http://www.lenexpo-electronics.com/e_italy/i/DVI_VGA_Adapter.jpg As far as peripherals go, you can use any USB mouse with your Mac.

Q. Will i be able to add a second cpu on a quad core mac pro?
if i buy a quad-core mac pro will i be able to install a second cpu to make it a 8-core? do the quad-core and 8-core mac pros have different motherboards or are they the same?

"You cannot install another cpu..."

No, you cannot install another CPU. The design of the motherboards for each machine may be different, but even if they aren't, it's not nearly as simple as adding another CPU.

Q. Does a mac computer necessarily need a cpu?
i have been a pc user all my life and i wanna know if mac computer needs a cpu, the thing where you can connect usb's and insert cd's. bq) can you tell me some of the most modern mac computers as of right now?

"The processor is inside the computer and you'll never see it unless..."

Yes, all computers need a CPU (Central Processing Unit). "The thing where you can connect USBs and insert CDs is not in fact the CPU. The processor is inside the computer and you'll never see it unless you open up the case. The case/tower is likely what you're thinking of. Not every computer necessarily NEEDS a CD drive or USB ports but most have them these days (with the exception of netbooks which generally lack optical drives [CD/DVD drives]). Some Macs come in one piece, so that all the bits that would normally be inside the case/tower are in the same housing as the monitor. It still has all the same hardware though, it's just put together a bit differently. If you know anyone who owns a Mac, you might want to ask if you could try a few things out on it before you decide to make the switch. Alternatively, you could try your local computer shop and ask for a demo on a few different machines. The staff should be able to walk you through some of the differences and the benefits and drawbacks of each. Just be aware that people are often biased and you might still want to do some research on your own. Personally, I'm a big fan of my dual-boot XP/OpenSuSE PC, but that probably wouldn't be the best setup for you even though I really like it. Shop around a bit and try to "test-drive" things as much as possible before you buy. Good luck! Regards, - Symbol

Q. How can i increase my cpu speed on my mac mini?
im playing a certain mmorpg online and i have to play on low quality because my cpu speed is only 1.42 and it needs to be 1.6 minimum , can i buy a part or something for it?

That part is call the processor and you may change the whole piece only to a greater speed of your desire.(central Processing Unit)

Q. Is it legal to upgrade the cpu of a mac pro?
according to the apple eula? i mean, duh, right? what's to stop me from purchasing an old mac pro and upgrading all the parts but keeping the old hard drive there? what constitutes as a "mac"? where is the line drawn between a "mac" and a hackintosh?

"What defines a mac is the motherboard in the machine..."

What defines a Mac is the motherboard in the machine, which has the identifying info. It would be legal to replace the CPU on the motherboard with a faster one, but I doubt you could do that successfully. Although legal in the sense of it still being a Mac, doing that would void the warranty or AppleCare coverage,

Q. How do you check cpu usage on a mac? like how much ram is being used and how to check the computers operations
i know you can do this with windows using task manager but is there a way to do it with macintosh operating system... btw i am running mac os 10.4.9

"It features highly detailed information on cpus (up to 8 cores..."

there is one way of doing it through terminal - 1. Open Terminal (located at /Applications/Utilities/). 2. Type: top 3. Press Return to open the top utility in the Terminal window. Two rows near the top of the window, "PhysMem:" and "VM:" indicate overall physical RAM and virtual memory usage, respectively. The two columns on the right, "RSIZE" and "VSIZE" offer memory usage information per application. RSIZE indicates the amount of physical RAM in use by the application or process, in megabytes ("M") or kilobytes ("K"). VSIZE indicates the amount of virtual memory Mac OS X has assigned for this process or application, in megabytes ("M") or gigabytes ("G"). 4. When you are finished reviewing the information, press the Q key to exit top. or the simple way is to use istatpro found here - http://www.islayer.com/ iStat pro is the ultimate system monitoring widget, consisting of nine sections which can be shown or hidden. It features highly detailed information on CPUs (up to 8 cores), memory, hard drives, IP and external IP, bandwidth, battery, wireless keyboard and mouse battery, uptime, temperatures, and fans. You'll know exactly what's going on inside your Mac!

Q. Can i pull a g5 cpu out of a power mac and put it in another power mac?
i don't do alot of multi tasking, so i want to take one of these two 2.5 g5 cpus and put it inside another power mac whose stock speed is 1.6. now in the same situation, suppose the 2.5 desktop runs ddr2, and the 1.6 desktop that's getting the cpu changed is running on ddr. also will it matter if the old 1.6 power mac is a 2003 model and the 2.5 power mac is late 2005/early 2006? seriously, i want blazing speed, and i hardly encounter tasks that require a second cpu. i just want to know if i can combine a 2.5 g5 pull with a old power mac 1.6 desktop.

"Path with the exception of those sonnet cpu cards..."

Depending on which chip is 1.6 and which is 2.5, doubtful. By this I am referring to whether it's a PowerPC 7440 or PowerPC 970. Propietary components don't have much of an upgrade path with the exception of those sonnet cpu cards . The pin number may be different. Look at your specs. Unfortunately, not much information is given about Apple's motherboards.
