You need to get some external computer speakers - you cannot make your built in speakers any louder.

the volume control thing is up all the way. you can barely hear whatever is playing on the computer. i have and hp vista. any similar problems? help??
"Select "open volume mixer"..."
In the lower, right hand side of the screen, you will see a "speaker" icon.
Right click on that and a box will appear. Select "Open Volume Mixer".
You will then see 3 volume sliders. Left click on each and move them all the way up.

 Q. How do i make my speakers louder on my computer? i dont have speakers only the one built into the comp but the volume is all the way up but its so low me and my brother haave the same comp but his is still louder then mine
"The same comp i guess either the speaker itself is faulty..."
Make sure you go to the volume settings and pull the volume & wave level all the way up. Some laptops have overall lower volume but since you have and your brother are using the same comp I guess either the speaker itself is faulty , and if that's not the case... then try downloading the latest audio driver for your comp, make sure your volume settings there everything is turned to maximum, and make sure your video/media player volume settings itself is turned to maximum.
Good luck.

 Q. How can i make my computer/speakers louder? ok so my computer speakers are soft and i can barely here the noise coming from it unless it's silent in my house. everything dealing with sound adjustments on my monitor are all turned completely up but that didn't do anything to really fix the sound. there is no volume knob on the speakers to make it louder and so i would really appreciate it if someone could help me fix it.
also i'm not sure if this would be helpful or not but my cpu and printer are both hp, my monitor itself is a old version dell monitor with the windows vista program, and my speakers are a old version polk audio speaker. my dad had set all of this up and replaced the old monitor and printer after the lightning storm busted them up and he can't figure out either as to why the volume is so low someone please help.
"If something is turned down it will reduce your sound volume from your speakers..."
You say all the adjustments on your monitor are turned up. Do you mean in the audio adjustments in your computer? Your monitor (picture display) won't affect your sound. Go to the Start button, Settings, Control Panel. Find Sounds and Audio Devices and go through everything there and make sure all the volume controls in it are up. If something is turned down it will reduce your sound volume from your speakers. Set them to the level you want. There may also be a sound control in the task bar at the lower right corner. This should bring up your volume controls.
