i have an hp pavilon laptop with the notebook expansion base. when i use the base when listening to audio through windows media player it makes a huge difference in the quality of sound, but neither my lap nor the base does much in boosting the volume level to a place it can easily be heard when i am not sitting beside it. is there any program/add-on... out there that will really help boost my volume? if its a paid one, i would really appreciate it being excellent before suggesting it. thank you!

please help, all sound settings are on full, the main windows, driver, software, mixer and media player are all on full. the file i'm playing is too quiet but i know the laptop can be far louder. i cannot use external speakers and i can't edit or convert the file. is there any software that can boost my volume? i realize it will be distorted but its better to hear poor quality than nothing. thanks
