It CAN play DS games, and also those newer DSi games, but it CANNOT play gameboy advanced games, it won't hav the slot for it, and u can also download games and other applications for the DSI, and it has an SD memory slot. so for ur DS games, ur safe, but for ur gameboy advanced games, u would hav to stick to ur old DS or buying another gameboy advanced system. That was the only reason i decided not to get the DSi. (niether of them play gameboy color or gameboy original games, unless u break the chip outa the plastic case)

Don't listen to the other moron poster... DSi is region locked this time around. It will play only play the games that belong to it's region. In other words, USA plays USA, EUR plays EUR.

Q. Help with my dsi in loading the software so i can play games?
software version is 1.4, i have a r4 sdhc card and the micro chip and i need help to get my games onto it to play cos when i pop the card in it says on top screen menu?

Unless you have the specific r4i sdhc it's not going to work on your DSi I'm afraid . If you do have it make sure you have the latest firmware that's 1.4 compatible. If you're looking to get the r4i sdhc for your dsi, I managed to find this site after I got burned at a few others http://www.dscardworld.com. Plus they have a great tutorial with all the links to teh software on their support page. Loved having my emails responded to because I had loads of questions, and they were quick to ship it. hi guys, i was thinking of buying a nintendo dsi...but i don't know for sure this: if i download torrents with ndsi games should i need a mod-chip or something instaled on the ndsi to play it... or just burn it with image burn or just copy it on the cd/dvd... ahh i really don't have any ideeas how this works... don't know if i made myself clear, but i just want to know if it's the same thing u do at nintendo wii / xbox / ps3 with the games ...burn the iso on a dvd, after you modded your consol... and if it need a mod-chip for the dsi.

i have a dsi and want to spend my 1000 free points but i want to know that for how long can we play this game?if anyone knows the answer please tell me.if it is for 1 or 2 weeks than their is no need to download the game but if it for entire life than who needs to buy any games on chip when i can buy two games for ten bucks. and from ten bucks i mean that i can buy 1000 points for ten bucks and 1 game costs minimum 200 and maximum 1000 points

i have a psp and i can play it without the usage of a umd and this is by downloading iso format psp games on my memory card and playing them, i know a lot in that but i'm a bit new to playing nintendo ds chipped. people can download games for the ds on a memory card and play them on their ds without official game cards needed to be used, all you need is a memory card (and if im right, it's and sd card). please can someone give me a step to step guide into chipping a ds and playing it without purchasing games? if you can, please send me some links. thank you.

For Dsi you'll have to buy a specific cartridge which looks exactly like a ds game cartridge. This cartridge will have a spot for a micro sd. All you need to do is download DS roms off the internet and put them on the micro sd which then goes into the cartridlge Links: R4i, I recommend for Dsi http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/indexe.asp Ds roms, i recommend: nds.hkorz.com For a normal Ds you can buy any cartridge, right now i'm using edge ds but the original R4 is good.
